Longquan on the Sword·Creation of All Nations

From May 5 to 9, Longquan City held the 2025 “Longquan Sword Theory, Creation of All Nations” celadon art co-creation event for Chinese and foreign artists. 200 artists from more than 40 countries gathered in Longquan to create sword works, integrating the exchange and integration of multiple cultures, and incorporating international thinking and perspectives into Longquan’s traditional celadon sword culture.

The firing technique of Longquan celadon is an intangible cultural heritage of mankind, and the forging technique of Longquan sword is a national intangible cultural heritage, enjoying a high reputation internationally. In order to further expand the international popularity of Longquan intangible cultural heritage, Longquan City uses “Longquan Sword Talk, Wanchuang” as a brand to invite artists from all over the world to experience the charm of swords and porcelain, and to showcase the international sword and porcelain culture in the form of co-creation of works, thereby promoting the dissemination and development of Longquan sword porcelain around the world.

During the event, the artists visited the Longquan Celadon Museum, Longquan Sword Museum, Wangou Taoxichuan Cultural and Creative District, West Street, Xitou Village, Baoxi Township, and other places to gain a deeper understanding of Longquan’s sword porcelain culture and historical charm. Representatives of Longquan local artists and international artists took the stage to share their personal creative experiences and showcase the local cultural landscape and cultural characteristics. The scene also demonstrated traditional celadon intangible cultural heritage skills such as throwing, repairing, carving, and glazing.
